a correction and more to come on ‘church or ecclesia?’

I have just returned from a stimulating 24 hours at the Anabaptist theology forum where I gave a paper on sovereignty, church and money in the genesis of the modern world. This has led me to offer some further reflections on the ecclesia which will appear over the next little while together with the beginnings of an attempt to take up some of the questions suggested in response to my request for discussion starters on the blog a few days ago.

In the meantime I have made some adjustments to the post on ‘church or ecclesia’ in response to Hywel’s recent helpful comment about ecclesia in the Septuagint. I had completely reversed the facts and it is not kuriakon that the Septuagint uses for the assembly of the Lord but ecclesia. However the correction strengthens the argument.
